Representasi Citra Pemerintah Indonesia dalam Film Dokumenter Sexy Killers

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi citra pemerintah Indonesia dalam film dokumenter Sexy Killers yang diproduksi oleh Watchdoc Image. Film ini mengungkapkan dampak negatif pembangunan pabrik batubara terhadap lingkungan dan masyarakat di Kalimantan Timur, serta menggambarkan konflik antara masyarakat, perusahaan, dan pemerintah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce untuk menganalisis tanda-tanda yang terdapat dalam film, dengan fokus pada elemen-elemen denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang membentuk representasi citra pemerintah. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik triangulasi dan pengumpulan data melalui dokumentasi, observasi, serta analisis isi film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film ini mempresentasikan citra negatif pemerintah Indonesia, dengan menyoroti ketidakpedulian terhadap penderitaan masyarakat yang terdampak oleh pembangunan industri batubara. Citra ini dibangun melalui visual dan narasi yang menggambarkan kekecewaan, ketidakpedulian, dan pelanggaran hukum oleh pihak pemerintah. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai peran media dalam membentuk citra politik dan sosial pemerintah Indonesia di mata publik.
