Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Citra Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 14 Pinggir di mata wali murid dan alumni, dan (2) Upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk membentuk citra tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Citra SMPN 14 Pinggir di mata wali murid dan alumni dilihat melalui sarana dan prasarana yang ada, kualitas bangunan dan fasilitas, kualitas tenaga pengajar, serta keterbukaan sekolah dalam melibatkan orang tua dalam program, kegiatan, dan keputusan sekolah. (2) Upaya sekolah untuk membentuk citra tersebut meliputi: (a) menjaga akhlak dan sikap siswa melalui penerapan nilai-nilai karakter, (b) berupaya mencapai nilai Ujian Nasional yang baik, (c) menjadi teladan bagi siswa, (d) menerapkan budaya senyum dan sapa, (e) menanamkan kedisiplinan, dan (f) menjalin kerjasama dengan wali murid serta masyarakat sekitar sekolah.
