Abstract

This study explains about the United States in the interests of holding joint military training with South Korea in the midst of nuclearisation between the United States and North Korea on 11/14/2019. Previously the reason North Korea reactivated nuclear power was because of the energy crisis. Pyongyang believes that nuclear ownership is the right of a sovereign state to maintain its defense and security. This of course caused world reaction, especially the United States. In dealing with North Korea, the United States does not use force as hard as it does in the possession of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Because it did not take the path of war, the choice of the United States was the peaceful settlement of soft power through negotiations. Together with the United States and North Korea itself, South Korea, the People's Republic of China, Japan and Russia gathered in a dialogue forum to negotiate an agreement to resolve the nuclear crisis. But the United States held joint military exercises with South Korea, while the United States is still in the stage of negotiations with North Korea regarding nuclear disarmament negotiations. On November 23, 2010, South Korea held joint exercises with the Americans on the North Korean border in a tacit dispute. South Korea and America claim the exercise was planned well before the North Korean attack. This exercise is considered as a show of strength. This of course makes North Korea assume that military training is a form of military threat that is intended for North Korea.
